Sacred Journeys was founded in 1996, and we facilitated our first tour in 1997. We formed our company to meet the needs of women travelers looking for a different experience, something as yet unrealized in the mainstream travel community. Sacred Journeys understands that many women, in relationships with husbands, female partners, or single women, want a sojourn away from their partners and friends. These travelers are also often searching for a meaningful and life-enriching experience. As well, many seem to feel more secure traveling with a like-minded group, in our case women, with a focus on women's spirituality and history.

Alaura O'Dell, our founder, has been a world traveler for over thirty years. Since the age of eleven, she hasn't stopped traveling, and loves to travel with women who share a similar interest in ancient sacred sites and inner healing. For the last twenty years she has researched some of the most famous, as well as the lesser known, ancient sites in England, Ireland and Scotland. Within the last few years she has worked closely with facilitators who have traveled extensively to other countries and throughout the United States. Our facilitators include some of the most renowned presenters in the fields of women's history and spirituality.

With our extensive itineraries and knowledgeable facilitators we hope to bring you a wonderful choice of retreats and pilgrimages to countries all over the world. We stay in pristine accommodations, and offer workshops in yoga, art therapy, reflexology, sacred landscape, goddess lore, history and much more.

We welcome all women, whatever your age, sexual orientation, profession, or religious practices. We are interested in fulfilling your travel needs, and will endeavor to offer you an unforgettable experience.
